Mutations

Evolution requires that changes be made which make brand new species that never existed before. According to evolutionists, natural selection and mutations are the only two ways that new species have ever been made.

We learned last week that so-called "natural selection" is totally unable to produce new species. Now we shall learn that mutations cannot do it either.

What are mutations?

We see lots of stuff on TV and movies that show mutations or ‘mutants’ as something very hardy and powerful and super, but is this true?

Mutations are damage caused to the body’s DNA blueprint, primarily by radiation. Why cannot mutations produce new species? It would take millions of helpful, beneficial mutations; working together all at one time--to produce a new species. But­—

1 - In nature, mutations are too rare. They only occur once in billions of times.

2 - They only have random effects. Mutations are totally haphazard. They are never purposive or planned.

3 - They are never helpful. They weaken the body and never improve it.

4 - They are usually deadly. Most mutations kill the organism outright. A mutation is a random, wild event. It is something like an automobile crash: It comes suddenly, when least expected, and no one can predict the outcome. But one thing you can be sure of: It will produce damage.

Here are several more reasons why mutations could never produce new plants or animals:

1 - Creatures which have mutations tend to die out and the few that live, produce young which tend to die out.

2 - If there were more mutations, the human race—as well as all the plants and animals—would be destroyed. We can be thankful there are so few of them.

3 - Evolutionists say that, given enough time, a few mutations here and there, can produce new species. That is not true, for millions of positive, helpful, interrelated mutations would have to occur in one instant ­in order for one species to come into existence. The entire DNA code would have to be instantly changed to a different, useful arrangement (and the chances of that happening are impossible).

4 - The next instant, a mate for that creature would have to be brought into existence nearby.

5 - Evolutionists say that, given enough time, a few mutations, here and there, can produce new species. Each one changes one species a little more toward another. But that is not true, for we find no halfway species any­where! All are distinct and different.

6 - Everything in a species has to work right or it becomes weak and eventually dies out. Mutations do not strengthen; they only weaken. They do not produce new, stronger species; they only injure the ones that already exist.

7 - In 1928. it was discovered that X-rays could increase the number of mutations by a million-fold. This enabled scientists to try to produce new species with test animals. But all they learned was that mutations always injure or kill, and never produce new species. Only God can make plants and animals. No one else can, and senseless. Random, harmful mutations cannot do it either.

But it can all be stated in a few words: It would take millions of helpful, beneficial mutations, working together all at one time --to produce a new species. But in nature. mutations are too rare. STRATA  1

Evolution occurs when a living creature changes ("evolves") into another, different, species. We know it is not happening now. Has it ever happened in the past? The bones and other remains of dead plants and animals are in the ground—in the layers of rock called ‘strata’. Strata have been studied since the early part of the 19th century, so we know a lot about them.

Much information has been gathered by scientists, and it all points to the fact that no evolution of species has occurred in the past; no plants or animals have changed into new creatures; and the strata (layers) which the fossils are in were made rather quickly.

The information we learn from the strata and fossils shows that they were caused by the world­wide Flood described in the book of Genesis, chapters 6 to 9. It is scientific history, and well-worth reading.

When the Flood occurred, the water washed sediments (gravel, clay, sand, etc.) into place, and covered over the dead animals and plants. As the waters flowed back and forth as the flood was being dried up, one layer after another of strata was laid down. Then it was packed down by more layers on top. At the bottom of the layers we find what they call the Cambrian strata, which is the lowest one with fossils in it.

All those creatures were slow moving ocean dwellers; that is why they are found at the bottom, they could not run from the flood. Yet they all have complex eyes and other organs.

Evolutionists say they are at the bottom because they are millions of years old and were the first to ‘evolve’. But there are too many kinds (over 1,500 species), and from all major types of life forms —including backboned creatures. There are even human footprints found in that bottom strata.

Evolutionists say this strata is so many millions of years old. Where do they get those dates? They date the rocks by some of the fossils in them —and then they date those fossils by a theory of how old they think the fossils ought to be! They have just made up their mind what it should be, and then they say it is so. That is not scientific.

Evolution teaches that everything keeps getting bigger and better. But we learn, from the fossils, that plants and animals were much larger at the time of the Flood than they are today.

Evolution also teaches that plants keep changing ("evolving") into other plants; and animals into other, new, animals.

But there is no evidence in the fossils that any species has changed into another. In order to do that, there would have to be many partway species made also. But that never happened.

The fossils are said to have gotten into the strata, because the plants and animals turned to fossils when they died. But fossils never happen that way today. It was the rapid burial and immense compression by the Flood, which made the fossils.

All these are definite facts, because evolutionists tell us that, for more than 150 years, they have collected 100 million plant and animal fossil specimens, which are now in museums and other collections.

Evolutionists point to dinosaur fossils as the outstanding evidence that evolution has occurred in the past. But extinction is not evolution. The dinosaurs died out. They did not evolve; they died. Coal was formed when large masses of plants and trees were burled fast, under great pressure from additional strata laid down on top. Petroleum was formed in the same way from animals. When we drive our cars we use fuel from the animals and plants that died in the flood.

There are many evidences of the Flood in the strata. We find massive boulders that were moved into place by the floodwaters, on top of strata, and then new strata were laid down around and above them.

Large upright trees run vertically through several strata levels. Seashells, sand, and gravel are be mixed in with the fossils and coal. =^..^=

STRATA-2

Last story we learned that we can see layers in the rocks of the earth. We know these layers were made at the time of the flood and this is where the fossils came from that we find in those layers.

But evolutionists claim that the layers just gradually got laid down over millions of years and the animals in the lowest layers were the first ‘primitive’ ones that evolved. But they have a lot of problems with this theory.

These strata (layers) do not agree in other ways with evolutionary theory. Fossils are in the wrong place. Certain ones are found far below the strata where they were supposed first to have "evolved" into life. There are supposed to be 21 types of strata, in 12 major groups. Each is supposed to have taken millions of years to lay down, before the next was made. Yet, wherever we go throughout the world, we find that more than half of the strata are missing! That could not be possible if the evolutionary theory was true.

What actually happened was that the water washed sediment into an area, covered it with a wash of plants, covered that, and then something else was washed in beside it or on top of it.

As we look at the strata, that is what we find. Nowhere is there a continuous layer continuing on and on. It stops, starts, and changes into other kinds of layers.

In many places, layers have been buckled into folds. Some of these folded strata are small; others are massive folded mountains and cover miles in area. In other places, they angle downward into the earth or upward, breaking off as the sharp edge of high mountains. At times, rocks are bent into right angles by such buckling. The Flood and its after effects caused all this.

Then there are overthrusts. Evolutionists date every layer as "older" or "younger" than the others. But we find immense strata of rocks, which evolutionists call "older" -On top of "younger" rock strata! All over the world, in every mountainous region, there are many examples of sup­posedly "old" strata on top of "younger" ones!

This is a big problem for these evolutionists, so they have to solve it. Instead of sitting down and saying, “You know, I guess we are really wrong about this, these layers were made by the world-wide Flood so we better believe the Bible”, they have to make up fantastic stories about how these layers got mixed up like they are.

They call these situations "over­thrusts," and they say that the giant masses of "younger" strata on top of "older" strata-slid side­ways for 50, 100, or more miles to where they are now! Sometimes they "slid" uphill!

Many of these immense overthrust areas are hundreds and even thousands of square miles in size! Evolutionists have to make up these silly stories because they have to defend their theory about fossils. If they lose their fossil theory, they really have little left.

Did you know that, according to the evolutionists, the famous Matterhorn, in the Swiss Alps, hopped over there from somewhere else? It is all "older" rock, which is on top of "younger" rock. Then there is the Mythen Peak in Switzerland. The evolutionary geologists tell us it ran there ­- all the way from Africa!

The Appalachians are an enormous mountain range, stretching from eastern Canada to central Alabama. Did you know that it climbed up out of the Atlantic Ocean basin and onto "younger" strata below it?

The truth is that this overthrust theory is foolishness. These are layers of fragile rock; massively weighted down. The strata would crumble if any attempt were made to move it from one place to another; so many fractures would be made. Yet scientists have analyzed it —and found that it is not fractured any more than other strata above or below it.

Man's theories are never as accurate as God's Inspired Word. You can trust the Bible. But beware of the theories of men; they are often wrong.

The Matterhorn, Glacier National Park, and the Appalachians are all areas that are supposed to have traveled there from some distant place. Have you ever seen a mountain get up and walk? I haven’t, and no one else ever has either! =^..^=
