Once King Xerxes of Persia chose a pretty girl named Esther to be his Queen. Esther was one of God’s people. There was a man in the King’s court that hated God’s people and made a plan to kill them all. His name was Haman. Queen Esther found out about it and decided to go to the King to ask for help.

Now in those days, if anybody went to see the King who was not invited, unless the King held out his scepter to them, they would be killed!

Esther knew this and prayed that God would help her to get help for her people. Then she bravely went to the King’s courtroom.

The King did hold out the scepter to her and later she was able to ask the King for help to stop wicked Haman and save God’s people.
